INTRODUCTION
In a typical dental clinic
Possible to extract difficult teeth
Wisdom teeth are the last permanent teeth to grow in at the back. They are called 18-year-old molars and begin to grow in gradually around this age. Like other teeth, if wisdom teeth grow straight and fit together, there is no problem, but if they grow sideways or at an angle, hitting the teeth in front of them, they may need to be removed.
Safe extraction based on accurate diagnosis

INTRODUCTION
Introduction of CT
The difficulty of wisdom tooth extraction varies greatly depending on how the wisdom teeth grow. In the following cases, it is difficult to extract wisdom teeth at a general dental clinic.
- Growing sideways or at an angle
- They grow deep and close to the nerves
In the case of difficult tooth extractions, we must accurately determine where the wisdom tooth is growing, the shape of the root, and its relationship to the surrounding nerves and blood vessels. Our clinic is equipped with CT scanners, so we can accurately determine the position and shape of the tooth and the condition of the surrounding tissues. If you have been told by another clinic that tooth extraction is not possible, or have been referred to a university hospital and are unable to receive treatment on weekdays, please contact us.
Is tooth extraction necessary?
Whether or not wisdom teeth need to be removed is a case-by-case basis. You should consider having them removed if:
When it can have a negative effect on the surrounding teeth

The growth of wisdom teeth makes it difficult to brush the back teeth, which can lead to cavities and periodontal disease in the front teeth.
When pushing the teeth in front changes the alignment

When the wisdom teeth push against the teeth in front of them, the bite changes, which can cause temporomandibular joint disorder and headaches.
When it affects the surrounding tissues such as gums

When wisdom teeth erupt they can bite into the gums and cause pain.
When the wisdom tooth itself has cavities or periodontal disease

If your toothbrush cannot reach your wisdom teeth, you may develop cavities or gum disease. If left untreated, it can cause bad breath.
Tooth extraction procedure
01|Tooth extraction preparation
If inflammation occurs, anesthesia will not work well, so you will be given antibiotics to suppress the inflammation. In addition, your mouth will be cleaned to reduce the bacteria in your mouth, which will affect how well you heal after tooth extraction.
02|Anesthesia
We will administer a thorough anesthetic so that you do not feel any pain during the tooth extraction. After administering a topical anesthetic to numb the pain of the injection, we will administer the anesthetic via injection.
03|Gum incision
If the gums are covering the wisdom tooth, the gums will be cut open to expose the head of the wisdom tooth.
04|Bone cutting
The jawbone is removed to make it easier to extract the tooth.
05|Tooth extraction
We use tools to extract (luxate) the wisdom teeth. If the wisdom teeth are growing sideways or at an angle, they will be divided into several pieces and removed.
06| Suture
The incision in the gums will be stitched up, and in some cases, a medicine may be applied to the wound to help the blood clot.
07|After tooth extraction
About a week after the tooth extraction, the wound will be checked and if there are no problems, the stitches will be removed.
Pain and swelling after tooth extraction
After tooth extraction, when the anesthesia wears off, pain may occur and swelling may gradually occur. It is generally said that the time it takes to extract a tooth is proportional to the pain. Since the wound heals as blood accumulates in the extraction socket, avoid gargling excessively or touching the wound after tooth extraction.
