About Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontic treatment is a treatment to correct the alignment of teeth and the misalignment of the bite. We often hear people say that having straight teeth has helped them to become more positive and proactive in their social and personal lives.Appearance is of course important, but having properly aligned teeth can help create an oral environment that is less susceptible to cavities and periodontal disease, and can also improve chewing and respiratory function.
Typical cases where orthodontic treatment is required
Frontal thrust
In addition to the so-called bucktooth condition, where the upper front teeth are tilted forward strongly, there are also cases where the entire upper jaw protrudes forward.
Receipt
Your lower teeth protrude further than your upper teeth. This is because your lower jaw is too large or your upper jaw is too small.
Gap teeth
Ideally, teeth should be aligned without any gaps, but there is too much space between the teeth. This is a concern for my front teeth.
Open bite
When you bite down, there is a gap between your front teeth. This is caused by thumb sucking or tongue habits.
Crossbite
When you bite down, the centers of the upper and lower teeth are not aligned properly. There are various patterns.
Misaligned teeth, crooked teeth
When teeth are misaligned, they are called crooked teeth, while when the upper incisors protrude from the tooth row, they are called double teeth.
Various orthodontic treatment methods
Lip side (front side) orthodontics
This is the most common corrective treatment.Devices called "brackets" are attached and wires are passed through them to move the teeth little by little to neatly align them.Braces are available in metal, plastic, or ceramic for less visible results.

Orthodontic treatment flow
STEP.1 Counseling
First, we will ask you about any concerns or questions you may have about orthodontic treatment. We will then examine the alignment of your teeth and provide you with a rough explanation of the treatment, an outlook, and an estimate. If you wish, we can also perform a detailed examination on the same day.
STEP.2 Detailed examination and diagnosis
We will examine your teeth alignment and bite, take X-rays, and take intraoral and facial photographs, and create a treatment plan based on the results. We will explain the treatment method, treatment period, and cost, and decide on a treatment plan after sufficient discussion so that you can be satisfied with the treatment.
STEP.3 Treatment begins
Based on the treatment plan decided upon, the treatment device will be fitted.
STEP.4 Tooth movement & regular dental visits
The time required for one treatment is about 15 minutes to an hour. The recommended frequency of visits is once every 1 to 4 weeks. The length of visits varies depending on the condition of the patient's mouth. Simple treatments such as partial orthodontics may be completed in about six months, but full jaw orthodontics may take more than two years.
STEP.5 Retention device fitted
After the teeth have been properly aligned, the orthodontic appliances attached to the teeth are removed. If left untreated, the teeth will return to their original position after treatment, so in order to maintain the proper alignment, a period of several years is required for retention. For this reason, a removable mouthpiece-like retainer is created to monitor the progress.
STEP.6 All treatments completed
While continuing to wear the retainer, your teeth will be fixed and your bite will be stabilized. You will be asked to come to the clinic once every few months, and treatment will end as soon as we can confirm that your teeth have stabilized.
