The idea of "preventive dentistry," which protects healthy teeth before they develop periodontal disease or cavities, is becoming an international standard. This is because recent research has revealed that oral bacteria, such as those that cause periodontal disease, are deeply involved in systemic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, diabetes, and dementia.
Among preventive dentistry, the most effective method is to suppress bacteria in the mouth and protect the health of the whole body.“GBT (=GUIDED BIOFILM THERAPY)”This is the maintenance.
GBT is a preventive treatment with a different concept from conventional treatments such as PMTC (tooth cleaning) and scaling (removing tartar), which remove stains, plaque, and tartar. We minimize the use of hand instruments such as hand scalers and rubber cups, and instead use instruments specifically designed for GBT to thoroughly remove biofilms (the masses of bacteria that cause cavities and periodontal disease) in the mouth and suppress the growth of bacteria.
AIR FROW PROPHYLAXIS MASTER
GBT uses the "Airflow Prophylaxis Master," a dedicated machine that is the only one in the world that is capable of GBT. Unlike scaling, which scrapes off dirt, or treatments and maintenance covered by insurance that use abrasives to polish the tooth surface with a rubber cup, this machine sprays very fine special particles together with warm water like a jet to completely remove biofilm from the tooth surface and periodontal pockets.

The special fine powder is sprayed onto the teeth for cleaning, so the teeth and roots are not polished more than necessary, and therefore the teeth, crowns, implants, or orthodontic appliances are not damaged.

During treatment, the powder is sprayed onto the teeth along with warm water. For those who experience pain when removing tartar, the use of warm water reduces the irritation. Also, unlike treatments covered by insurance, there is no ultrasonic vibration, so the stimulation to the teeth can be controlled, which reduces the burden on the patient.
