FAQ
My 2 year old child has yellowed front teeth. Can they be whitened?
Whether or not you can restore your teeth to their original whiteness depends on the reason for their yellowing. Here we will introduce some possible causes.
Causes of yellowing teeth
Tooth surface discoloration
If the cause is discoloration of the surface of the tooth, it can be reversed by polishing the surface of the tooth.
Commercially available toothpaste also contains abrasives, but if it is difficult due to age, it is possible to remove the stains when the child is a little older. There is no specific age at which toothpaste can be used, and it is said that it is okay to use toothpaste once the child is able to gargle properly. Once your child does not mind using toothpaste and is able to gargle properly, it is a good idea to start using it.
Discoloration of tooth grooves
Discoloration in the grooves of your teeth may be a sign of tooth decay, which will require treatment.
Trauma/discoloration of the tooth itself
If the cause is trauma or discoloration of the teeth themselves, it will be difficult to restore the original whiteness. Since your child is only two years old, we cannot determine whether the above treatment is applicable without first examining him.
After examining your child, we will explain in detail what is causing the staining.
