We held a two-day intensive course for dental hygienists led by Professor Eishu Hirata.

September 25, 2026

On September 24th and 25th, 2026, a two-day intensive course for dental hygienists was held at Asuto Nagamachi Dental Clinic, with Dr. Eishu Hirata, a dentist from Aoyama Quartz Dental Clinic, serving as the instructor.

With the theme of "Shifting from curative treatment to protective treatment," we conducted practical training combining lectures and hands-on practice, focusing on three key areas: caries (tooth decay), periodontal disease, and occlusion (bite).

In the hands-on training, we learned a wide range of techniques directly applicable to daily practice, including the fabrication of temporary teeth, taking intraoral and facial photographs, shade photography to record tooth color, taking dental impressions using an intraoral scanner, infiltration anesthesia, and rubber dam isolation.

As the theme of this training program, "From Curative Treatment to Protective Treatment," suggests, dental hygienists are expected to play a crucial role in maintaining and managing oral health and supporting overall health. Our group will continue to strive to cultivate dental hygienists who can contribute to improving the quality of life for patients and promoting health in the community through training programs like this one.
