July 22, 2026

On July 22, 2026, the Tokushinkai Study Group (TSG) held an MFT training session at Asuto Nagamachi Dental Clinic.

The Tokushinkai Study Group is a training course established in 2024 with the aim of further improving the skills of medical staff and increasing patient satisfaction. Led by Dr. Yutaro Kuribayashi, the head of the medical department, the training is open to medical staff from all over Japan who belong to the Tokushinkai Group.

On this day, we held a training session on MFT (Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy) for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants belonging to clinics in Miyagi Prefecture. MFT is a preventative approach that addresses issues such as open mouths and malocclusion caused by underdeveloped muscles around the mouth in children by teaching them the correct use of oral muscles and supporting jaw growth. MFT not only improves tooth alignment and bite, but also affects the entire skeletal system, muscles, and brain function, bringing many benefits to growing children.

The training began by confirming the significance and importance of MFT based on actual case studies. After reviewing the diagnostic and evaluation process and key points, participants deepened their understanding from both theoretical and practical perspectives by experiencing actual training.

Our group regularly holds these training sessions in various locations to improve the knowledge and skills of our staff, thereby creating a system that can meet the diverse needs of a wide range of patients, from children to the elderly.
