On July 1st and 2nd, 2026, the Tokushinkai Study Group (TSG) held an intensive course for dental hygienists at the Tokushinkai Quartz Tower.

Tokushinkai Study Group is a training course that was launched in 2024 with the aim of further improving the skills of dentists and dental hygienists and increasing patient satisfaction.
This training will be taught by a team of lecturers led by Dr. Kuribayashi Yuutaro, Head of Medical Department, and is open to medical staff from the Tokushinkai Group throughout the country.

This time, Dr. Hidehide Hirata, a dentist at Aoyama Quartz Dental Clinic, served as the instructor for a two-day intensive training session that provided essential knowledge and skills for dental hygienists, whose scope of work has been expanding in recent years.

The first half of the first day covered the fundamental theories and clinical considerations of "occlusion" through lectures. In the second half, we welcomed Hiroki Ishihara, a dental technician from our group, as a guest lecturer and conducted a practical session on the fabrication of provisional restorations*1. On the second day, we conducted hands-on training on painless anesthesia, rubber dam isolation*2, and intraoral photography. The participants actively engaged in the training, asking questions and practicing skills during breaks and after the training ended, demonstrating their enthusiasm.

As the shift from "medical treatment" to "medical treatment" progresses, the role of dental hygienists who support overall health through oral maintenance is expanding. Through this type of training, our group strives to develop dental hygienists who can contribute to improving the quality of life of patients and promoting the health of the local community.

*2 A treatment method in which the tooth to be treated is isolated from the surrounding area with a rubber sheet to prevent the entry of saliva and bacteria.
