On April 23, 2026, we held an aligner orthodontics training session at Matsumura Dental Clinic Niitsu, led by Dr. Eishu Hirata, a dentist from our group's Aoyama Quartz Dental Clinic.
While orthodontic treatment is often thought of as simply "improving the appearance of teeth," our group considers it an extension of preventive dentistry. Poorly aligned teeth reduce the effectiveness of cleaning, increasing the risk of cavities and periodontal disease. Furthermore, even with diligent daily brushing and regular professional cleanings, problems with the bite can disrupt the balance of forces on the teeth, potentially leading to tooth loss in the future. For this reason, we believe orthodontic treatment is an essential option in preventive dentistry, which aims to protect teeth for the long term.
On this day, we conducted training that combined lectures and practical exercises to help patients feel more at ease undergoing aligner orthodontics, which offers many advantages such as being "less noticeable" and "removable for easy eating and brushing." We intensively deepened our learning, from reviewing the concept of preventive dentistry mentioned above to key points for collecting data to accurately understand the condition of patients' mouths.
Our group will continue to strive to improve the precision of various treatment methods, keeping in mind the goal of protecting our patients' teeth for a lifetime.
