On March 26, 2026, the Tokushinkai Study Group (TSG) held a periodontal surgery treatment practical training session at Matsumura Dental Clinic Niitsu.

Tokushinkai Study Group is a training course launched in 2024 with the aim of further improving the skills of medical staff and increasing patient satisfaction.
This training will be taught by a team of lecturers led by Dr. Kuribayashi Yutaro, Head of Medical Department, and is open to dentists from all over the country who are members of the Tokushinkai Group.

This time, we invited Professor Yoshitaka Takahashi from the Faculty of Dentistry at Oshu University to give a lecture and practical training session on periodontal surgery.
In the first half, we received a lecture on the diagnosis and treatment of furcation lesions (a condition in which periodontal disease progresses at the point where the roots of molars branch), and in the second half, we were taught two treatment methods, free gingival graft (FGG) and guided periodontal tissue regeneration (GTR), through hands-on practice using pig jawbones.

The practical materials used were not something we usually have the opportunity to work with, and the chance to receive direct guidance from Professor Takahashi was extremely valuable, making it a very meaningful practical session for each participant.

Our group will continue to hold regular training sessions taught by experts in various fields in order to provide the highest level of medical care.
